Turtle Buddies Toymaking
This workshop concept brings back a whimsical summer tone, as children create their own unique turtle toys!
A yarn weaving project enables the younger group (5-7), to create their very own turtles, then go wild with buttons, silk flowers, or fabric paint to decorate the beautiful and unique turtle shells! Prompted by the story “Mossy” by Jan Brett.
For the older group (8-10), this workshop is a great first introduction to sewing, as children learn how to sew two circles of felt onto a glove, which will magically become a turtle stuffy with a ready-to-decorate shell!
Next one coming up September 18, 2023, at Centennial Community Centre in New Westminster, BC!
